SMALL GOOD THINGS | April

I’m so grateful to have enjoyed a month away in the sunshine, I feel rested and rejuvenated. Normally, I would jump back into my life with gusto and wear myself down again. This time I’m going to try a different, more measured, approach. With Cole settling into his life in Calgary, I expect life as I knew it to change and I plan to stay open to all of it!

As for some small good things for April?

ONE | The built-in shelving in the great room needs to be organized. Right now it’s just a big mish-mash of things with a shelf of grad photos, a shelf dedicated to Bill and his ashes, a shelf of crystals, and a shelf of miscellaneous stuff. I’d prefer it to have a more coherent - and pretty - look.

TWO | The coach house is now vacant and ready for a bit of a re-vamp which starts with a deep clean. The dogs and I will likely have to move into that space when the renovations continue on the main house. This’ll be a good time to get things prepared (and replace the infamous beaver rug) as we wait for the arrival of Spring weather.

THREE | While away, I signed up for Match.com and I’m going on my first real-live date with a complete stranger. Well, we’ve been texting and calling and so far, so good. Small steps with zero attachment to form or expectations of a perceived outcome. I am following my friend Erica’s advice: “just have fun”.

I continue to show up, dare to ask for more, and say yes to all opportunities that resonate with me and my values.

What are some small good things you can do to feel engaged and accomplished?
