BRAVERY 52 | List 41
LIST 41 | List the clothes/hairstyles/accessories you wear that make you feel more confident, bold, and capable.
It’s been a process to figure out how I want to best show up physically in the world.
CLOTHES:
For years I have been on a mission to convert my wardrobe to be completely Eileen Fisher. My kids tease me and say I’m wearing expensive pyjamas and they’re not completely wrong. The materials are all so gorgeous and the cuts so simple. I wear the clothes, the clothes do not wear me. And bonus, the Eileen Fisher philosophy aligns with mine.
HAIR:
I recently got rid of my COVID-hair, ten inches cut off and it feels fabulous. My hair grows out not down so it’s nice to be able to better manage it. Now I have less of an excuse to not exercise as now I can dry my hair quickly as opposed to the 15+ minutes it took to blow-dry and straighten. Shorter hair suits me and truly makes my life easier and therefore makes me feel more capable. I embraced the grey years ago, I just wish it would come in quicker. I’m told I need more stress in my life - ha!
ACCESSORIES:
I suppose my primary accessory is my eyewear. The prescription between my left eye is so vastly different from my right eye that I need separate glasses for driving, reading and while on the computer. For years I’ve been in search of big, bold, statement glasses and I finally found some! With the help of Wendy Buchanan, eyewear image expert, I was able to get six pairs - driving, reading, sun and three for on the computer since that’s where I am most of the time.
Lately, I am toying with the idea of wearing makeup which I haven’t done in years - too irritating to my skin - but maybe with better quality products, that won’t be an issue. I’ve gone back on NOOM with Cole, not so much to lose weight but to get into a healthier routine of consistent self-care (I wouldn’t want to lose too much weight, after all, I have an expensive designer wardrobe!).
