BESTSELF™ ICEBREAKER | Life Lessons 07
WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF IF YOU COULD?
I suppose the thing I regret most was not taking charge of my life and living it to its fullest on my own terms. I was too busy reacting and then conforming to the agendas of others. I’d encourage me to:
Trust yourself.
Fight for what you want.
Live your life for yourself and not the acceptance/love of others. (Imposing their conditions means they don’t love you - they want to control you. Pay attention! See: trust yourself.)
That said, I am a true believer that whatever is meant for you will not pass you by - I had simply hoped to not wait until my mid-50s to discover the joy of it. So, I’d add:
Show up and say “yes” at every opportunity.
Allow yourself to be seen, be impeccable with your words and be authentic with your presence.
This too shall pass - the good times and the challenging.
I wish younger Lee didn’t feel that she had to settle to be safe. In fact, she would have benefitted greatly by heeding her rebellious spirit earlier. The world needed more of that.
