IF YOU COULD ONLY LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN ONE LIFE LESSON, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Everyone is doing the best they can with what they’ve got. It may not be your best, but it is theirs.

After that, unless the action (aka others doing the best they can with what they have) of others affects you directly, before you offer up an opinion make sure your own backyard is immaculate. Heed the whole “glass houses” analogy.

I think the two go hand-in-hand. Both are hard lessons to learn and it took me a very long time. If I can save any of my children some time, (and they have experienced much of the same trauma, abuse, and gaslighting as I did), some of them are still angry and I’d like to alleviate any negative emotions and have them focus their energy on gratitude.
