BESTSELF™ ICEBREAKER | Exposed 19

DESCRIBE A TIME WHEN YOU LET SOMEONE DOWN.

I had a friend I would have done anything for; if it were within my ability, I’d have moved the earth for him.

He struggled sometime around 2011/12 and asked if I could help him financially as he wanted to purchase a facility he was eminently qualified to run. This request was made within months of my legal separation, and I was probably in more of a financial hole than he was! I was forced to reluctantly say “no,” and it stuck with me for years. It was one of those necessary decisions that still led to regret, even though there was no way I could have done anything to help.

Years later, I made it up to him, but for years I struggled with tremendous feelings of guilt and sadness that I couldn’t be there for him when he needed me.
