I AM CURRENTLY | May 2021
PASSING on my annual purchase of a paper calendar. Between the now-defunct Desire Map Daily Planner and the Get To Work Book, I haven’t been without a paper planner in years, but the experience of the last year, I’ve used the calendar that lives in my phone so much more. I’m hoping to bring less into my life going forward and I’m starting with this. Until now not ordering a paper planner would have been unheard of – but I’m learning that the things that used to bring me joy won’t always and it’s okay to let go.
FINISHING my third DreamQuest journey with a final call – and a “graduation” craft. I’m excited to harness the energy of the new moon to make the necklace and enjoy one last opportunity to bask in the energy of this lovely group of intuitive, kind, strong, and intentional women. I’ll miss them all so much, but that said, I think it’s time for me to try this on my own – no safety net. (But I know I can always go back when the time is right. Nothing ever stays the same – thank goodness!)
PONDERING what I want to do once I’m settled in Southampton, which, at this rate, might be sometime in late September, what do I want to invite into my new life? Finish my Creative Writing certification from UofT? Start my “Sacred Goddess Circles” idea? Re-map the novel and then start to write it (again)? Continue with the memorial bench project for Bill? Start designing the gardens – back and front? Keep Noom-ing? Take online reformer Pilates classes to make sure I use the new machine? So many options!
PARTICIPATING in this year’s Week in the Life project with Ali Edwards. I have downloaded all of the digital files and now I have to figure out the overall look I want to go for this time around – but only after I write down the stories and take the photos. I deeply regret not participating in the project last year, I have just a few cherished memories. We were in the initial stages of COVID-19 and Bill had started his HepC treatment. What I wouldn’t give for a few “interviews” with him and a record of a few details of our life together.
MOVING daily according to the Noom program I’m on. One big change/improvement is my getting in all the steps – which is a challenge in a tiny one-bedroom condo under lockdown orders – every single day, consistently. I’m also following (the best I can) the exercise program that they’ve set up. I’m looking forward to being able to do each day (which is actually every other day-ish) without my body complaining.
LEARNING all I can about how women show up in the world historically and what can be extrapolated from that foundation to build a safe, inclusive, supportive future.
ENJOYING my Lelo and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in a satisfying experience. It’s worth every penny. I will forever be grateful to those ladies who attended my divorce party years ago and got me my first (2nd, 3rd and 4th) toy. My friends are the best!
VISITING the new house for the first time since construction started! The team has been great keeping me up-to-date via emails, photos and video calls and an enormous amount of money has been spent. It’s time to take a walk-through to determine if any changes need to be made now, rather than waiting until all of the renovations are completed. It’s exciting to know I can start thinking about the placement of furniture and artwork/photo canvases.
What about you? How are things in your world these days?
