SMALL GOOD THINGS | December
December has been a blur of inertia. I think the combination of my recovering from NaNoWriMo exhaustion of last month, poor Tucker and his ongoing ear infections, and the blood clot/infection resulting in antibiotics that knocked the stuffing out of me! I’m simply tired.
As for some small good things for December?
ONE | No one talks about it, but it’s a real thing: a friend break-up. Why is this a small good thing? I took a few days to give it the thought it deserved and didn’t run away from the right thing to do, for me. I stood my ground, said my peace and though I feel slimed, I feel good about the decision. It was the hard but right call.
TWO | No holiday decorating. Last year I was ripped off by a local contractor who was to purchase and install twinkle lights, who did neither. Next year the porch will be a different shape and size. We’re going away, so there’s no big need to put out decorations. Why is this good? Way less to do when I get back!
THREE | I finished all of my holiday shopping by September and promptly put everything under the pool table. I recently wrapped everything and realized I have to mail out a half-dozen gifts. They’ll be late, but they’ll be sent. Happy gifts will arrive mid-January! That’s a good thing, right?
I continue to show up, dare to ask for more, and say yes to all opportunities that resonate with me and my values.
What are some small good things you can do to feel engaged and accomplished in your life?
