HOLSTEE | Monthly Guides
Anyone who has been around here for a while knows that I’m a great admirer of Holstee and their famous Manifesto poster has always been featured prominently in my homes. Throughout all of 2020, I used their brilliant Reflection Cards as writing prompts - it proved to be consistent and challenging, a most rewarding practice. For the last few years, each month, I receive a creative kit. Consistently, due to our inefficient postal system, I receive my kit a month late. I miss the writing prompts and would like to use these kits to keep me on track as they hit all parts of life:
January | INTENTION
February | KINSHIP
March | WELLNESS
April | COMPASSION
May | SIMPLICITY
June | ADVENTURE
July | CREATIVITY
August | PASSION
September | RESILIENCE
October | INTEGRITY
November | GRATITUDE
December | REFLECTION
I realized in December when trying to complete the year-end reflection kit, that I hadn’t participated in the previous eleven kits enough to properly make the most of the exercise. That won’t happen again! As a result, this year, I’ll be using last year’s physical kits combined with the digital version online to come up with something that will be rewarding at the end of the year. As the pandemic drags on, I am looking to find projects that are challenging, engaging, and fun. In my never-ending quest to be the best version of myself (and not let the pandemic win), this is one of the writing projects I’ve chosen to keep me a little sane. For some accountability, they’ll be shared on the third Thursday of each month.
How are you managing the pandemic? Have you found some new hobbies - or returned to old ones? What keeps your days from devolving into Groundhog Day?
