WHAT ARE THE DAILY RITUALS YOU SWEAR BY AND THINK EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD EXPLORE TOO?

Beyond waking up (and being grateful for that small miracle) and washing up, there are a few rituals I have woven into my days.

Petting the dogs - if you don't have one, get one! I have two sweet and often needy labradoodles. They know they won't get any attention while I'm working, but once I walk away they're all over me.

Meditation - this is a key activity - only 20 minutes - and sets me on the right path to start my "work" day. And then another 20-minute session before I go to sleep at night. It has been a profound and wonderful practice added to my days.

Pull an Oracle Card - sometimes I ponder the message, sometimes I journal about what it triggers, sometimes I simply marvel at the artwork.

FaceTime or Phone calls - with any combination of my kids. I speak with Cole and Chloé daily and Claire at least 4, maybe 5 times a week. I am so grateful that they want to talk to me. Rarely do I call them as I don't want to impose on their time, but they do call me to check in and tell me about their lives. I know a lot of people have a rough relationship with their parents/children, but I encourage you to pick up the phone. And I'm so happy that they use the phone - not too many texts!

Walk Away - I could spend all day at my desk: writing, researching, reading, playing. I have set an alarm that reads: Walk Away From The Desk. It's a solid practice to rest and refresh my brain after the overstimulation created by the time spent on the computer.

Gratitude - As I wind down the day, I go through and list (in my head) the things for which I am most grateful. This is especially key after I've had a challenging day!

Sleep/Wake - I go to bed at the same time and wake at the same time every day, it guarantees me at least 7-hours of sleep and my body is reacting well to the routine.

If you don't do these things, I encourage you to try them! And, if I'm missing something that you do, let me know what I should explore myself!
