WHAT SKILL DO YOU NEED TO ACQUIRE TO ACHIEVE YOUR NEXT GOAL?
Ah yes, the ever-elusive skill of PATIENCE!
It is my nature to do things, to fix things, to show up and make everything right in the world. I have to remember that I have chosen to take this, my foundational one year to be kinder and gentler with myself, to allow for me to be a human being rather than a human doing. I want to meditate more, sleep more, dream more, journal more, move more, to simply stay open to what needs to be found. (It’s time to fully embrace the concept that whatever I’m looking for is also looking for me.)
Truth be told, I have acquired far more patience in the last decade than I ever thought possible - certainly, the last three years were a Masterclass. Just as I become comfortable and show some pride in myself for this hard-won transition, the newfound ability to let go with gratitude and grace, the Universe sees fit to send me a reminder that I’m not as advanced as I’d like to think I am and there is always more work to do. It’s a tricky thing the un-remembering all of those things that kept me safe and whole along the way.
I suppose my next goal is not a tangible acquisition but a state of being. I’ll be working on it by not forcing anything and allowing for things to be the way they’re meant to be. I am working toward an idea - not necessarily a goal, more of the answer to how I want to feel in my life.
I will be more patient - with myself, others, and everything around me.
