WHAT'S YOUR DEFINITION OF SUCCESS?
How to approach this question? There are so many options. I’ve worn plenty of hats in my lifetime and could answer from a few different perspectives.
Since all I have is right now, this moment, my life is currently defined as a fully retired single mother of four adults.
Today my definition of success is pretty simple and straightforward:
I can afford to feed, clothe, shelter, and educate myself and all of those people I brought into this world.
I have a small yet mighty group of wonderful and supportive friends whom I love dearly. Fact: you can make friends after 40 (and after divorce, and after moving) and for them I’m grateful.
Consistently with purpose and confidence, I show up for myself, my family, my dogs, and my friends.
My time and space are my own, my choices and decisions are my own, my mistakes are mine to make, my victories are mine to celebrate, my boundaries have been earned.
For this year, I have prioritized my health (physical and mental) and give myself permission to travel where I want, eat what I want, drink what I want, watch what I want, read what I want, play what I want, listen to what I want, and wear what I want all within the framework of taking care of myself.
I have a good life. I am grateful and regularly count my many blessings.
What about you? What is your definition of success?
