SMALL GOOD THINGS | February
Last month I put a post out to the world for me to be more aware of the good things in my life, ”I want to focus on the good, the positive, the areas of my life where I can express gratitude - not tinged with hope but with genuine heartfelt joy.”
I enjoyed focusing on a few small good things last month and feel like I have them firmly incorporated into my days going forward. Choosing five small good things was ambitious so going forward I’ll cut it back and choose three small good things, still ambitious as it’ll end up being 36 things accomplished by the end of the year. I think it’s enough to be impactful.
As for some small good things for February?
ONE | Read toward my 24 book goal for this year. More specifically, read fiction - the 24 books are to be novels, not woo or self-help or poetry or how-to-write-a-novel books. I’d like to get at least 2 read this month - and remember to record it on Goodreads. I’m so grateful to have the time and opportunity to focus on this goal.
TWO | Make the laundry/back entry to the house function better. (I don’t want to wait for the renovation which will be completed at some point this year.) The laundry is an especially integral part of a functioning household, I can only do the best I can with what I have now. I’m grateful to incorporate seemingly endless folding into my self-care meditation every day.
THREE | Prepare for and (not over-) pack for my upcoming trip to Turks & Caicos. (I’m fully aware that this trip may not happen at all with the continuing pandemic, but I’d rather stay positive!) I’m grateful to have something to anticipate. Sand between my toes and margaritas - yes, please!
The one carry-over thing I’ll continue to do each month of this year: keep showing up and dare to ask for more of myself, my life, and 2022.
What are some small good things you can do to feel engaged and accomplished during these seemingly endless tedious times?
