BESTSELF™ ICEBREAKER | Courage 01

HOW ARE YOU ABLE TO LOVE SOMEONE YOU DON'T AGREE WITH?

It is my belief that love should be given unconditionally - it is not contingent on whether I agree or don't agree with someone on an issue.

If we are fundamentally opposed to beliefs then there is a good chance that I wouldn't love that person in the first place, unless of course, they were family. You can love someone without having to like them - or agree with them on issues.

In my world, the big issues are politics, money, and music. Religion these days doesn't make much of a dent in the conversation. But sexuality, indigenous issues, and economics do!

It would be a pretty boring world if I were to spend time only with people who agree with me and my opinions. Though I enjoy a good debate, when the conversation is over I prefer to agree to disagree if it's an issue on the lower end of the fundamental to my character and importance scale.

As for love. The question is whether or not the issue is big enough to have it cause a rift in the unconditional, then act accordingly.
