BESTSELF™ ICEBREAKER | Life Lessons 13
WHAT'S THE BEST MISTAKE YOU'VE EVER MADE AND WHY?
The best, biggest, and most spectacular mistake of my life was marrying my first, only, and last husband.
I married for ALL of the wrong reasons to the absolute most wrong person on the planet. He was a comfortable choice but not in a healthy way. He was a toxic, insecure, gaslighting narcissist with a cruel streak. I was comfortable because he was simply the male version of my mother. He offered me something I was used to: I was never enough while simultaneously I was too much of everything. It was a balancing act I had become proficient at handling.
Without that mistake I wouldn’t have my life as I know it now.
I have four spectacular young adults who bring me challenges and joy every day. I have an abundance of confidence that I can handle absolutely anything life (and death) throws at me. I can turn a quarter into a loonie with little effort. I completely trust my intuition and instincts. I absolutely know my worth and will never settle for comfortable again - comfort, for me, is toxic.
I am grateful to him for all the lessons learned. Even more grateful that I don’t need a remedial relationship!
