I am so happy Brené Brown has brought back her TGIF – (this time the F stands for FUN instead of Friday) – and I agree with her, we can all do with a bit more fun in our lives!
Here is my personal TGIF for the past week:
I’m trusting that Bell will get their act together and I’ll have consistent internet service soon – it’s been a month and a new modem and still no resolution. (I didn’t realize how much I relied on being connected – from my website, to my TV to my Sonos music system – it’s all dependent on my being connected to the internet. As much as I know I can pick up a book or write in a journal or cook or do other projects, I’m anxious without connection.)
I’m grateful for weekends spent learning new things with a good friend who feels like new and new friends who feel like they’ve been around a while. I attended a Jean Haner-led “Clear Home, Clear Heart” workshop in Chicago to support my brilliant friend, Nancy Rush who helped facilitate the weekend. I learned a lot and look forward to learning more.
I’m inspired and maybe a bit overwhelmed by all of the unpacking that awaits now that the hardwood floors have been installed. For years we moved every 5-6 years for reasons I never understood. This process feels like a move – or at least a good excuse to purge – though I haven’t gone anywhere, physically. I will only put back those things I really want to remain in my home. I purged as I packed but I know there will be another wave.
I had a lot of fun talking with Jennifer Wilson from Simple Scrapper on her podcast that will be released some time in June. It was interesting to reflect back on my evolution as a scrapbooker and how my practices have evolved organically over the years. I’ve learned a lot, kept the good, released what does not work for me and have carved out a nice happy existence for myself. (Also goes to show you never know who’s reading your blog!)
What about you?
