ICEBREAKER: WHO WAS YOUR FIRST TRUE FRIEND?
I have been blessed with a number of friendships – from childhood buddies to middle-age women confidants – over the course of my life. The easy answer is Peggy who was the daughter of neighbours, friends of my parents, in the first neighbourhood I remember, in Saint John, New Brunswick. We moved away when I was four. Another more real answer is my Nanny, my father’s mother who took such very good care of me while also earning a solid reputation as a “battleaxe” – proof that people are complicated.
I am a believer in the saying that you have friends for a reason, a season, a lifetime. Most of my good friends have been around for a while but I continue to stay open to meeting and learning from new people all the time.
GOING DEEPER: HOW WILL YOU OR DID YOU KNOW YOU ARE IN LOVE?
Know = intellect. Love = feeling. How do you ever know you’re in love? You just do.
I am completely in love with my life, my children, my dogs, my guy, my home, my friends, my circumstance, my business, my projects. How do I know? They bring me such joy. Unconditional ease of knowing that I am loved as much as I love. My life is simple, honest and transparent. There is no other way.
