ICEBREAKER: DO YOU MAKE DECISIONS MORE WITH YOUR HEAD OR HEART?
As much as I’d like to say I make decisions with my head, I have to say my heart wins pretty often. I want to do what I can to support my children, my family, my partner, my friends, to find their own happiness in any way I can contribute. Sometimes I have to say “no” but my preferred response is always “yes”. In my head, I’m going through the last 10 decisions I’ve made and have to admit there is an even split. The reality is, I don’t make my decisions with either my head or my heart, I make it with my gut, with my intuition.
GOING DEEPER: HOW DO YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED?
Last year I took a course where the instructor asked us to write our obituary. (Smart man, David Layton, he wanted a quick way to know all of the students.) I did my best. I want to be remembered as being honest, authentic, vulnerable, compassionate and brave. And with a pretty good sense of humour.
