I turn 55 today.
Wow. That’s a big number. Even on my worst days, I don’t feel it. (Fortunately I don’t have many of those anymore.)
A while back, during my second round of learning Applied Astrology with Debra Silverman, Louise Bauer Davoli, my mentor mentioned that I was in my third stage of life as my Progressed Sun had moved into Scorpio. I had to admit I was a bit alarmed at the time but have learned much about Scorpio since. Now I know it’s exactly perfect and I can feel it working in my life as I take this deep dive.
My Progressed Sun spent until 1983 in Virgo, when at 19, it moved into Libra where it was located for most of my adult life. Up to 2 years before and 2 years after changing signs, some people may make life-changing, impulsive decisions and I have to admit my life between 18 and 20 was a complete shit show.
Six years ago, in 2013, my progressed sun moved into Scorpio – I felt a profound shift in my life, how I felt down to my bones, starting around 2011 (hello separation and divorce) and it scared me. I continue to work in (and appreciate) the energy now that I have a better understanding of Scorpio which can be a highly misunderstood sign.
At age 79 (god willing) I’ll move into Sagittarius which, from the description will be a hoot! I hope to be one of those old ladies with funky glasses and fun clothes with an optimistic outlook on the world and the part I play in it.
The following information is taken directly from Dark Pixie Astrology:
Progressed Sun in Virgo
When your progressed Sun enters Virgo, you want to do better and be better. No matter how well you do, you know you’re capable of more, and you work hard to hone your skills to be a master. You expect nothing less than your best, and you want your best to be even better. You take a more practical approach to situations, and aren’t up for any fluff or filler. You only need what you need, nothing more, nothing less. You can take all of the knowledge that you’ve gained in your life and apply them to everything that you do. You’re good with the details, paying attention to all of the small stuff, and highly observant. It’s a time to roll up your sleeves and work, not play, and not be lazy.
Progressed Sun in Libra
When your progressed Sun enters Libra, you strive to bring balance into your life. You need to feel as though you’re giving equal attention to everything and everyone, and anyone or anything that you’ve been neglecting will come to your attention. This is a time for you to find your perfect balance, whatever that is for you. You’re also meant to learn through your relationships, to grow and see yourself in others. The people that you attract to you will likely mirror you in some way, and they’re there to help you truly find yourself. You may see good things, and you may see bad things, and if you’re not satisfied with yourself, you can work at changing now.
Progressed Sun in Scorpio
When your progressed Sun enters Scorpio, you need to transform yourself by letting the things that no longer serve a positive purpose in your life die. We all have things that we keep, whether they be habit patterns, mental states, relationships, or emotional issues, and to truly be find yourself, you have to move on from these. Understand that you hold great power over yourself, and you can change any part of yourself that you need to. Don’t try to control others, only yourself, and you’ll transform yourself in ways that will help you become a force. If you fight it, you’ll experience problems with power and control. This may seem like a heavy position, but it’s one that offers tremendous growth.
Progressed Sun in Sagittarius
When your progressed Sun enters Sagittarius, expand your mind and vision of your life and the world. If you can see it, you can make it happen. You can take your dreams and make them reality now. You’re more bold, daring, and confident, and when you merge that with the strength, power, and purpose you’ve already developed, there isn’t much that you can’t do. If anyone tries to stand in your way, they won’t succeed. You want to have more experiences now, open yourself up to the world, and solidify your beliefs. You may be more spiritual, or become intensely interested in learning and devote yourself to a quest for knowledge, whether it be tangible, physical knowledge, intellectual, or spiritual.
I find exploring and understanding esoteric astrology to be such a fun and validating practice.
What about you? Does your life take on the flavour of other signs as you age? What are your three (or four) stages of life?
