This is the seventh month of the Ali Edwards‘ led One Little Word® project. This month held the toughest (for me) prompt as we were tasked with choosing song lyrics that resonate within us and hopefully our word. I love music, all kinds of music, and with the new addition of the Sonos system in my home, I can have it on in every room with the swipe of my iPhone. Between it and Shazam app where I keep a list of current “favourites” I thought this was going to be a snap. Wrong. I ran into the annual difficulty with this prompt. So much music is about love and loss and I’m simply not there. Don’t get me wrong, I totally get it, I’m just not there. Now. So, I just thought about what truly resonates within me, regardless of my word or relationship status, and dug into some old and new favourites that I have been listening to lately and I think I got it right.
NOTE: Thanks to AE for reminding me of #6! Perfect.
I do know “Feeling Good” is a standard, but I like the Avicii version; and, there are hundreds of versions of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and since I do not have a favourite, I just went to the original source. Brave by Mimi O’Bonsawin is well worth the listen if you have 4 minutes.
I like the idea of reviewing how my word is showing up in my life each month. It gives me a chance to make some adjustments. And, this month, do some real thinking and searching.
Did you choose a guiding word for the year? Do you have Core Desired Feelings? Are they working together?
