HELLO HALLMARK CHANNEL | Formulaic and predictable, I enjoy these movies – after scoffing them for years. I have my tea, mince tarts (from Cobs), and a box of tissues beside me on the couch; the dogs on a pillow above and the floor below. We settle in every day for a 2-3 movie marathon. Sprinkle in a few traditional movies (It’s a Wonderful Life, Die Hard, Love Actually, and my most favourite Rankin & Bass stop-motion animation productions) and my days are complete! #projectkeepmyheartopenisunderway
HELLO FULL MOON + ECLIPSE | There’s lots going on out there in the cosmos encouraging us to transform our lives. This full moon eclipse in Gemini is a good time to clear out some of the heavy crap we have in our heads (Gemini is the sign related to the mind). And with Mercury heading over toward Saturn it’s a sure sign from the universe that we need to decide to discipline our minds more and either deal with or rid ourselves of negative thinking. It’s time to put a plan together to show up and do our collective best; commit to making the rest of the year the best it can be and welcome 2021 (which promises to be bumpy) in as upbeat a way as we can muster. #onward #thereisnogoingback
HELLO FINAL MONTH | It’s hard to believe that 2020 is drawing to an end but not before I: celebrate the birthdays of two special young women, plan a move in 2-parts, participate in weekly group meditations and Mastermind calls, frantically read a book for club, enjoy online Spirit Jams, witness a total solar eclipse, continue with maintenance and massages, honour the traditions of Yule, be grateful for my team of cleaning ladies, and remain open to whatever else, yet unplanned, might just happen. #endwithgratitude
HELLO DISSERTATION | After a bit of frustration, Chloé is on a roll. 12,000 words will be written on “Desegregation in the American South – How the Supreme Court Decisions Caused Resegregation”. Timely. I’m looking forward to reading the almost finished version, as her final editor, in a couple of months. The process will be gruelling but at least it’s been approved and underway! #mastersofhistorydegree
HELLO DECOR CHANGES | This year I did not plan to return to the tropics as last year it was far too hot and I had a partner who was an overgrown kid and a big fan of all things Christmas, he wanted to stay home. Well, COVID-19 definitely accomplished that. Now I have décor to celebrate Yule (as a practice, I celebrate the season) and a few traditional Christmasy things to honour Bill. I got rid of just about everything during my last move since we were always away from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Eve. One thing is for sure: change is always coming! #gnomeseverywhere
HELLO MONDAY | You are my favourite: I love that you provide me with 52 fresh starts every year.
