HELLO HOCKEY | Traditionally, I greatly enjoy the days between Christmas and New Year’s. Some years the kids and I would binge-watch a series or two, take lots of naps, lay on a beach or visit with friends. ALWAYS, no matter where we were, we’d find a way to watch the World Juniors (hockey). This year I’m especially excited to catch the tournament, Bill was a huge fan and vocal supporter of one of the goalies – Devon Levi – who we would watch on our visits to Carleton Place last year. Levi is a tremendous talent and is proving it against all odds! I am strangely proud of his accomplishment.
HELLO BINGE WATCH | This year is decidedly different but still good as it provides us with reasons to make the best of things. I’m hoping to find and watch “Yellowstone”. I’ve recently heard that in order to better cope with my inevitable Hallmark Christmas movie withdrawal, I should check out “Virgin River”.
HELLO NEW PROJECT | I’ve had printed up a bunch of ‘change of address cards’ which have required me to gather mailing addresses for friends and family. Then I realized the site asks for birth dates as well. So, this year, instead of a quick “HBD” on Facebook, I’m going to send birthday cards. Real cards, with notes inside. (I’m going to have to get on this quick, it’s CRAZY the number of friends who have birthdays in January!) I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling disconnected and one of the best ways to connect is the old fashioned way – letters. AND, then I realized that I make postcards using my photographs (and a few other things) so why not write a few notes, too? (This is how my brain works – one idea leads to the next, then the next, and so on.) I am excited to do this!
HELLO READING | My tremendously talented friend Jeanette Peters and I are going to have a Zoom call and she’ll give me a tarot card reading for 2021. Yes, I could do this but I’m always afraid I bring my own biases to readings (tarot or oracle cards) for myself and besides, Jeanette is a talented magical being who brings such a positive and effervescent energy to everything she does, why not spend an hour with her? Think about it if you are looking for some insight and guidance for the year ahead.
HELLO LOBSTER | For the four of us, how many lobsters are needed to welcome in the New Year? A dozen. Right. I thought so.
BONUS HELLO MY ONE LITTLE WORD® | For 2021, it’s BRAVE. Feels right.
HELLO MONDAY | You are my favourite: I love that you provide me with 52 fresh starts every year.
