HELLO PREPARATION | It looks like some people (of ALL ages) can’t follow the rules for the safety of the many and continue to (selfishly) render the efforts of the rest of us useless. I think we’re (sadly) heading toward another shutdown. In preparation, I have ordered a reformer Pilates machine (my absolute favourite piece of exercise equipment, ever). If I have to be stuck, I’ll be stuck exercising.
HELLO AUTUMN EQUINOX | AKA Mabon for those of us who follow the Wheel of the Year, which I do. A simple ceremony will happen – likely a walk through the woods. “It is a time to reap what you sow, a time to give thanks to Mother Earth for the bounty she provides and a time to rest after bringing in the crops.” I enjoy the natural flow of the seasons and prefer to focus on the authenticity of the earth rather than the commercial aspects of the “Hallmark holidays”.
HELLO VIRTUAL BOOK CLUB | With two of my most favourite Texans: Brené Brown and Katherine Center. The focus will be on the fabulous book Things You Save in a Fire. I am a huge fan of Katherine Center’s novels and hope to write her kind of stories someday.
HELLO ENOLA HOLMES | I am looking forward to watching the talented Millie Bobby Brown in this new movie on Netflix. (I was disappointed to learn it wasn’t a full-run show; it is so full of fun and exciting things in the trailer!) Plus, Henry Cavill? Helena Bonham Carter? Yes, please.
HELLO VIRTUAL BOOK FESTIVAL | Word on the Street in Toronto is an event I’ve tried to get to for years, but something always got in the way. This year, I’m free, but this year it is virtual! I know it won’t have the real “feel” but I’m looking forward to attending.
HELLO MONDAY | You are my favourite: I love that you provide me with 52 fresh starts every year.
