To what are you saying hello on this brand new Monday?
HELLO WEEK IN THE LIFE | I’ve participated in this Ali Edwards-led project since 2006, with varying degrees of success. I was warring with myself whether or not it would be worth doing it again this year with so little on the calendar. Now that we’re 60+ days into Covid-19, these days are exactly what this project is for: recording our normal even when it is unprecedented and extraordinary.
HELLO DESIGN TEAM | Last month there was a call for a scrapbook design team and I submitted my interest in being considered. I find out by the end of this week. While I hope I’m chosen, one thing I’ve learned in the last few weeks is that I miss my digital projects and making photos + words look beautiful in artfully designed books. It’s time to make room for the activities I most enjoy and purge the rest.
HELLO RECYCLING | I’ve taken course after course. Some I’ve loved, some were dreadful. There are oodles of binders filled with projects and assignments, beautifully colour coded and organized. I haven’t opened one of them since they were put on the shelf when we first moved into this house in 2014. It’s time to make space for those things that really resonated that I can build on.
HELLO APPLE CARE | The timing is not great for Chloé’s three-year-old Macbook to poop out. Time to take it in and fingers crossed we don’t have to get her a new one!
HELLO OFFICE HOURS | I am beyond relieved to have implemented focused time for specific projects. Two hours of uninterrupted work has proven to be the exact amount of time I can dedicate and be productive. I’m tempted to add a second day. It’s worth a try! (Full disclosure: for the last six months I’ve been taking care of someone who has gone from sick to very sick and I have a hard time carving out time for myself without feeling like I’m abandoning him. His health is improving and it’s time for me to focus on myself and my own projects and health.)
HELLO MONDAY | You are my favourite: I love that you provide me with 52 fresh starts every year.
