HELLO CLOSING DATE | It looks like the closing date has finally arrived! The future starts now. Well, we’re one step closer. The reality is that our future will start closer to April when the renovations are complete and all of the furniture is moved in, but we’re now on our way! This experience will force me to live in suspended-reality. I’m looking forward to the lessons the next 11 weeks hold for me.
HELLO BOXES AND MORE BOXES | Due to the lockdown, the resulting effect is that the initial move is on track but the renovations have been delayed. While Cole is up north for the next month, I’ll remain in Oakville with the dogs. When it’s time for me to move, everything will go in storage. (We are packing as much as we possible so that we store only furniture, not boxes or other contents.) It’ll be like being back in my first apartment with only one of everything – a return to a minimalist existence for a while. Who knows, maybe it will continue, a whole new way of life in my new life?
HELLO NEW MOON | This week holds the first new moon of 2021. What does a new moon bring? An opportunity to start a new chapter; time to manifest abundance; welcome love into your life; ready for growth and accept change. What am I going to consider, think about and journal on? What am I no longer willing to tolerate within myself. What is my hard no for the year ahead. That is a pretty loaded exercise. (Of course, any time is a good time to journal or record your dreams or simply meditate.)
HELLO PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS | I am not an app girl and don’t understand things like Canva, Photo Pea and Pixlr X. I learned Photoshop Elements years ago and every once in a while I update to the newest version which creates a whole new learning curve. I don’t need the firepower of full-blown Adobe since I get most of what anyone who is not a graphic artist could possibly need in my preferred leaner (also cheaper) version. Some things stay the same (shortcuts) but others are changed and often relocated. Since much of my focus for 2021 will be in taking photos, making coffee table books, and taking the completed projects that exist only in my computer and making them tangible, I downloaded the newest version. Holy smokes! Exciting and terrifying all at once – I can’t wait to get started.
HELLO CRUISE NOT TAKEN | A notice popped up reminding me that I was to be on a world cruise for the next six months. They have to be booked well in advance – so far ahead that I was able to fit in a great love, a business, an engagement, a death, a house sale and purchase, and a pandemic! Of course, when we decided to start a business, I cancelled travel plans, coincidentally the budget was about the same. Maybe someday I’ll reconsider the trip but right now I’m content to visit all of those destinations virtually.
HELLO MONDAY | You are my favourite: I love that you provide me with 52 fresh starts every year.
