HELLO IMBOLC | With this Sabbat we are officially midway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox – in the depths. We have enjoyed a gentle winter, so far. I hope it continues! Now it’s time to thaw, welcome light and make space for new beginnings.
HELLO GROUNDHOG DAY | After 11+ months that has felt like one crazy groundhog day after the next, I’m cautiously peeking out to see how things are going “out there”. I want to see whether I should look for light or close the door and hide up on the 42nd floor for a few more months.
HELLO SELF CARE | After a few delays and a gall bladder cleanse, it’s time to talk to the general surgeon. I hope to receive some guidance on how to avoid it at my annual assessment at MedCan. This time last year my health was problematic as I suffered painful and inconvenient physical issues which were handled with patience, medication, procedures, and a lot of hard work. I’m hoping for a clean bill of health!
HELLO TORONTO | As a result of Caden’s recent diagnosis of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, I’ve decided to further suspend my reality for the duration of his chemotherapy treatment. Starting with a 6-month capsule of time (it will likely be longer), I will be living with him and the beasties, travelling between the city and the new house once the renovations are complete, until chemo is over. At least COVID-19 has taught me to focus on the journey.
HELLO SUPERBOWL | Unfortunately, the Bills are not in the big game – this year – so instead I’ll have to simply enjoy the game. As much as my Bill loved Tom Brady, he did enjoy cheering for Travis Kelce, the tight end for Kansas City. I like to think I’m cheering for KC and not against Tampa Bay, but I am cheering against Brady. We’ll enjoy some game day food and beverages as we yell at the television!
HELLO MONDAY | You are my favourite: I love that you provide me with 52 fresh starts every year.
