JOIN IN. Now that my surgery has been postponed, I can learn to play Pickleball at the club and participate in the Aqua Fit classes at the local YMCA. It’s time for me to be more social and get out of the house, at least before the snow flies.
MAP A PLAN. I had a wonderful meeting with my DreamQuest coach, Jenn Lewis, an incredible transformational life coach who helps me look at things I can’t see. I am in a remarkable place right now, truly blessed with all that I have in my life (and all that I don’t have anymore!) It is with deep gratitude that I go through my days. With that feeling as my base, I want to sit down with my calendar and my list and prioritize those things that need to stay and that need to go. What obligations belong to me and what can I give up to the Universe to handle for me?
THANKSGIVING. It’s going to be a weird one this year. I have no idea who will be home if anyone. It might be just me and an order of Chinese take-out. Or it might be a whole house full and Chinese take-out. I’m going to roll with it and enjoy whatever happens.
BE INSPIRED. I’m off to listen to the wisdom of two brilliant, internationally successful (Canadian) women who have provided me with great guidance and insight: Colette Baron-Reid and Danielle LaPorte. In between events, I’ve decided to take a few days to myself – with books – in the woods. I’ll be in inspiration overwhelm by the time I come home. I can’t wait to wade through it all!
Here’s the accountability piece:
CLEAN UP MY SPACE IN THE CLOUD.
Now that I kind of know what I’m doing with this new technology, it’s time to not only clean up my desktop but also wade through what all is “up there” and give it a good digital cleanse. Done but it’s clear this will have to be a regular (monthly/quarterly) practice going forward.
EDITORIAL CALENDAR 2020.
This is the time to start thinking about how I want to show up on my website going forward. More deep and personal posts? Less? More fluff and nonsense? More crafty goodness? More photos? So many things to consider. It looks like I’m going to continue with a lot of the same ideas. I enjoy my Hello Monday, Desire Map and Weekly Reflections. They might look a bit different but essentially it will be the same.
I have four large black and white canvases of my kids that have hung above my boarding school chapel pew for the past few years. Last month I had a Nest thermostat installed so two things have to happen: the canvases have to move; and, something needs to replace them in the space above the pew. I think I’ve got it! A combination of some of my favourite words and favourite images. I’m working on the presentation but have all of the materials.
Over the summer months, I let go of regular routines and tried to embrace spontaneity. Inasmuch as that’s possible given my personality (hello Virgo sun, Virgo rising). Now it’s time to slow down and review what’s working, what’s not; what I’m wanting to introduce and what needs to be released. I also have to wrap my brain around the idea that now that I have no kids living at home that my new normal is more unstructured – like summer. Eek! I love that this idea was exactly what was discussed and re-enforced through my most recent coaching session with the brilliant and insightful Jenn Lewis. As well as my recent Free + Clear sessions with Danielle LaPorte. This goal will carry over through October. Indeed, it may incorporate into my way of being.
