NANOWRIMO My annual quest to write 1,667 (quality) words every day for the month is underway. I got a good head-start on my characters and plot with the preparations made while away on my self-imposed writing retreat in Whistler last month. I’m just hoping the story is as good on paper as it is in my head.
DESIRE MAP WORKSHOP Did you know the heart is 5,000 times more powerful than the brain? Fact. So, it all comes down to HOW DO YOU WANT TO FEEL? I’m looking forward to sharing this at an upcoming Desire Map workshop. My core desired feelings changed my life and I hope to share this process so that it changes the life of others.
VISIT CLAIRE She’s been in Halifax for over two months – it’s time to visit her, get a big squeeze, enjoy some conversations. In-person is always so much better than texts and Facetime.
PURGE, PURGE, PURGE Anything that needs to go, needs to go. Clothing, books, kitchen stuff – all of it. It’s a constant project and needs to be on the goal list again!
Here’s the accountability piece:
Now that my surgery has been postponed, I can learn to play Pickleball at the club and participate in the Aqua Fit classes at the local YMCA. It’s time for me to be more social and get out of the house, at least before the snow flies. I get a big fat F on this one! I’m adding it to my November goals.
MAP A PLAN.
I had a wonderful meeting with my DreamQuest coach, Jenn Lewis, an incredible transformational life coach who helps me look at things I can’t see. I am in a remarkable place right now, truly blessed with all that I have in my life (and all that I don’t have anymore!) It is with deep gratitude that I go through my days. With that feeling as my base, I want to sit down with my calendar and my list and prioritize those things that need to stay and that need to go. What obligations belong to me and what can I give up to the Universe to handle for me? When you open yourself up to the grace of the universe be prepared – it knocked me on my ass! Wow. When October started I was in such a state of ease and contentment, I wondered “how could my life ever get any better than this?” and then it did. AND while in Vancouver, I got my new Desire Map calendar which I look forward to using.
It’s going to be a weird one this year. I have no idea who will be home if anyone. It might be just me and an order of Chinese take-out. Or it might be a whole house full and Chinese take-out. I’m going to roll with it and enjoy whatever happens. Not weird, just different. It was nice to have my boys home with me, we have so much for which to be grateful. My list always starts with my children. Everyone enjoyed the lovely long weekend.
I’m off to listen to the wisdom of two brilliant, internationally successful (Canadian) women who have provided me with great guidance and insight: Colette Baron-Reid and Danielle LaPorte. In between events, I’ve decided to take a few days to myself – with books – in the woods. I’ll be in inspiration overwhelm by the time I come home. I can’t wait to wade through it all! Holy goodness was that bonkers brilliant! It went better than originally planned – proof that I have to stay open to opportunities and say “yes” more often. Time to be bolder with my choices.
