I came to realize that I haven’t been keeping track of my stories lately, certainly not like I used to, I’ve been living them, fully. I have to admit, I miss it. There has been a lot that’s gone on in my world over the last eight or nine months and it’s all worth recording!
I’m going to start with the classic present participle list of prompts for this month. Maybe I’ll change up the words in other months, but this is how things are for me right now:
READING for the second time, Marie Forleo’s brilliant Everything is Figureoutable for book club. I’m hosting this month – let’s hope I made a good choice for everyone!
WATCHING until it ran out too soon, Billions. Season 5 which was interrupted by COVID-19 and ended at Episode 7. Just as it was getting really good.
MOVING less than I like or I should. I’m looking forward to getting back to my Reformer Pilates classes with Jackie at Amaroo as well as taking the dogs for walks as soon as this crazy humidity goes away.
LISTENING every night to music via the SONOS system. It’s a constant battle between country (him) and classic/alt rock (me). I really need to dig out my sleeping headphones and listen to white noise instead.
LOVING in a way I never thought was possible for me in this lifetime – and being loved the same way in return. It is beautiful and breathtaking. Definitely worth waiting for! He rocks my world.
LEARNING to not play the “what if” game and be content with what is.
FEELING sad, wrecked really, over the recent passing of a gentle and kind man who was a tremendous teacher and inspiration to me. I’ll miss the blue bear.
WEARING pajamas and leisurewear every day – no need to dress up for much! You know it’s a “go out” day when I dig out a bra – and a mask. We go nowhere outside the house without a mask.
GIVING thanks every day for how these last few months, though sometimes challenging, have been full of love and connection. I am deeply blessed, beyond anything I could have imagined. I’m living my days in joy and gratitude.
PLAYING calm while we wait for news about school and jobs for all of the kids for the next school year – only two months away! All we can do is make the best choices given the information we have at the time. Essentially: there are no good choices, and that’s ok.
DRINKING tequila instead of wine. Not sure about the caloric difference, but I have three drinks instead of (at least) double that so it’s got to be an improvement. Ideally, I’ll be switched over to sparkling water by the end of summer.
NOTICING how much I enjoy my home – both inside and out. There are a few quirky bits and a few things that need to be fixed, updated and replaced; but, it’s home and I love it and everyone in it.
WORKING on plans when nothing is open or able to be booked is a challenge. It has certainly provided our team with a reason to get creative regarding how we approach ideas for upcoming events.
EATING a lot of take-out in an effort to support our favourite local restaurants (Mermaid and the Oyster, Piazza, Stoney’s, Jonathan’s, Fratelli, Yame, Red Chillie and a few more). Once this whole COVID-19 is under control, I really hope our favourite places are still open for us to enjoy.
That’s how things look around here in mid-July. How about you?
