DRINKING | Perrier with a slice of lemon. Love lemons!
EATING | Wholly Guacamole. So delicious.
EMBRACING | The change in seasons. All the crazy that comes with the pre-exam prep. All the crazy not knowing if we need sunscreen or an umbrella.
ENJOYING | The furniture all re-arranged in the family room.
COOKING | More fish than my kids might like.
TRYING | To put together a plan. Editorial plan. Travel plan. Creative plan. Project plan.
MISSING | Little. Claire calls and sends daily updates from the UK so no time to miss her!
FEELING | A bit battered – the Universe has sent a few unpleasant blasts from my past.
LISTENING | And singing. Lots of Carly Simon, Carol King, Bonnie Raitt being sung lately.
WATCHING | Friday Night Lights with Chloé. I watched the first two seasons when it was on network TV (2006/07) but couldn’t find it after that. I’m enjoying my trip back to Dillon, TX and watching the whole series beginning-to-end.
READING | Only with glasses on. The time has come. They are no longer an option – even squinting.
WEARING | My new “upgraded” wardrobe. How I love all that is Eileen Fisher!
PLANNING | Much. Too much.
WANTING | The town to figure out what is wrong so I can start with my backyard plans.
NEEDING | To remember to not take four – FOUR – courses at the same time.
WISHING | There were no such thing as allergies.
WAITING | For the new kitchen table to be delivered. I’m so thrilled it’s close.
THINKING | Always. I need an “off” button for my brain.
ENJOYING | My kids enjoying time with their friends. With the good weather comes social opportunities not found in the hibernation of winter.
ENCOURAGING | Free thinking. It’s tough to have independent kids but I do love that they are all so different from each other and not afraid to ask questions even when I don’t have the answers. It keeps my mind nimble and my attitude flexible! They have some really great arguments and I’m learning to stay open to their opinions.
CELEBRATING | The Victoria Day long weekend was nice. A good time to regroup before the end-of-the-year push. Rooms are being tidied, papers being organized, attitudes being adjusted. Only five more weeks and they’re out for summer.
MARVELING | At how mature some children can be and how immature some adults can be. Mulling.
ANTICIPATING | Changes ahead.
CULTIVATING | A home that contains only the things we love. An attitude that encourages that less is perfectly okay, in fact, preferred.
