DRINKING | Some roobios green tea left over from my Candida cleanse last month. I wanted something hot and this has nothing in it that will keep me awake.
EATING | Well. Without restriction so I don’t have to think about food all the time. #relief
EMBRACING | That there is always internal work to do and appreciating the patience of those around me who indulge me in this (seemingly) never-ending pursuit.
ENJOYING | Having all four kids close – they’ll all be in the same town for a couple of weeks! Happy mama.
COOKING | Mediterranean. It’s all the foods I like and they’re all good for me! If you have any recipes, please forward.
TRYING | To heal. The traditional methods are not serving me well so I’m going the woo route – everything is energy and I need some! Surely this process will be less frustrating.
MISSING | Having a “guy” conversation – about golf and other sports, movies, current events, politics and policy. Conversations with men are so different than those with women. I am feeling the absence in my life.
FEELING | Restless.
LISTENING | To music throughout the house. The existing speakers are now hooked up to the new SONOS system and I’m enjoying it. The downside? Everyone can control it so we have the occasional music wars. It’s exhausting!
WATCHING | All of the shows I’ve recorded since September. Claire doesn’t have a DVR at school so I record them and watch with her when she is home: Scandal, Once Upon a Time and Nashville. Clearly we are fans of ABC!
READING | The Crossroads of Should and Must: Find and Follow Your Passion by Elle Luna just arrived in the mail today. So much for my promise to read fiction!
WEARING | My over-sized purple sweater. I love sweater weather and will miss it when its gone.
PLANNING | My editorial calendar and submissions for publications for the next six months and beyond. I’m really finding my voice and now need to find a place to express it.
WANTING | Answers.
NEEDING | To get The Next Chapter Studio up and running.
WISHING | Study Season goes well. There are presentations and summatives and exams and all manner of deadlines and expectations. It’s no wonder some of these kids are a puddle of nerves! I don’t know if I could manage the pressure the way it’s done now.
WAITING | For the town to decide what needs to be done with the stream that runs behind my house so that I can get on with my plans!
THINKING | I’m happy my kids do not have to worry about any potential teacher strike. What a mess.
ENJOYING | Les Habitants. The only sign of residual paternal influence – all of my kids are fans. If you listen to my boys talk you’d think they were official assistants to the General Manager!
ENCOURAGING | My kids to make choices in alignment with their values: without explanation or apology. Their courses, their adventures, their friends, their hobbies, their lives are up to them and they need to live it for themselves – not for anyone else.
CELEBRATING | Shifts.
MARVELING | That the birds, so many birds, start singing at the exact same time every morning. 5AM seems to be their agreed upon time to start their cacophony of sound.
ANTICIPATING | A wonderful week in Tucson. No cooking. No schedule. No shoulds. Happy sigh.
CULTIVATING | The life I want.
