LIST 16 | List the things that make you feel strong: emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually.
I’ve never considered feeling strength in these terms before – it’s a real challenge for me.
Emotionally, I feel strength by journaling my feelings, talking to friends to noodle out opportunities and challenges, and playing/singing to music that helps me process life today. And when hugging is a thing again, I’ll be doing lots of that – and I’m not a hugger, but I will be!
Physically, I feel strong when I don’t have to use my puffer, when I complete a full POM round with the equipment, and when I don’t have to stop because I’m winded when I’m walking the dogs.
Intellectually, I feel strength from a well-crafted thought or argument, when I actually “get” the metaphor (I am NOT a poet, not even close), and when I finish a book.
Spiritually, I feel strong after I’ve meditated, when I recognize a breakthrough that makes me acknowledge a block or habit that does not serve me, and I am able to release it. It’s all a process, one that will never be finished and that, to me, is the best part.
