WHEN HAVE YOU SPOKEN OUT WHEN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN EASIER TO SAY NOTHING?
All. The. Time.
The number of times I’ve been lectured on “judgment” is endless. That has always translated to me as “do what is easiest for ME”. I tend not to do that. As much gray as I’ve learned and lived over the years, fundamental right and wrong still comes in black and white.
It took me a long time to realize that people react to me based on their own experience. I am deeply grateful for and content with my life, I feel no sense of lack or of jealousy, I have no investment in wanting anyone else’s life or belongings. My ego is limited and I advocate for myself and others out of altruism. I know I’ma rare bird, I have everything I need. I make the most of what I have and rarely want for more. Even in my previous life when I was searching the couch for change to put gas in the car or feed my kids, I was grateful for my full life.
I can always be counted on to err on doing or saying the right thing – that is not always the popular thing.
I’m okay not being popular.
I enjoy answering tough questions if for no other reason to challenge myself to dig deep and tap into what I know to be true to my core, for me, no bullshit; and, I want to encourage others to show up and answer their own tough questions. In the midst of packing and moving in mid-October 2020, I got an email from BestSelf™ about an ICEBREAKER “Deeper Talk” deck. A deck? Hello? I’m IN! This deck contains 150 questions split across 6 different categories: Beliefs, Courage, Dreams, Exposed, Life Lessons and Self-Awareness. How tough can it be? We’re about to find out. 150 weeks of answers. (I’m so much better with giving the answers than asking the questions.) I do hope you share your answers with me! #letshaveaconversation #deepertalkdeck
