LIST 02 | Take one minute to focus and check in with each of your senses. What do you feel, smell, hear, taste, and see? List everything you can sense right in this moment.
I’m sitting in front of my computer in my office, my usual place around 10AM each morning.
FEEL: Inspired by a number of brilliant ideas I’ve found recently online. I’m doing my best to be more discerning and choose projects that do not contribute to overwhelm. I’m a creative magpie and need to learn to dial it back. In the meantime, it’s a bit chilly in here and I need to find a sweater.
SMELL: Nothing, my olfactory system continues to be on the fritz for the 55th year.
HEAR: The television on in the family room – tuned to CNN, as always. I have a Spotify playlist piped through the SONOS which is keeping me happy as I know all the words to the long-familiar songs. The keys on the keyboard clicking the words for this post.
TASTE: Green tea and a slice of not-quite-thawed carrot cake leftover from my birthday. It’ll take until next September to finish it off then I’ll start again with a new carrot cake.
SEE: Piles: books, papers, magazines, and more. I’m back to living in the land of the unfinished project. Time to clear it all away. There are also many open tabs on the computer. For someone who thrives in order, I really can make a mess!
There is, of course, more. I just don’t see any reason to go into the minutiae of everything I sense at the moment, just most of it. Enough to relay the feel of it all.
