DRINKING | As much water as I can manage. I’ve been using iDrated and it does it’s job: makes me aware of when I am to drink. Whether I listen or not is a completely different story!
EATING | Good stuff! I’m trying to eat as much of the organic fruits and veggies as are delivered weekly by Mama Earth.
EMBRACING | Mercury in Retrograde. I embrace it each time it rolls around. It seems to be the 3-week period I manage to get the most done. This time around? LOTS of projects to REview and REnegotiate and REconsider!
ENJOYING | Our new home. Everything is (finally) moved in with the pending sale of the townhouse – furiously knocking wood. The deal closes on January 30! Things may not be in their proper place, but at least everything is all in one place.
COOKING | Plenty of One Pot meals. Cast iron has to be the greatest material ever invented. I am not a fan of the crock pot, but the one pot has been great.
TRYING | To coordinate all of the new ID for all of the kids. The drivers licenses and health insurance cards have to be updated with the name change and new address in order to get new 10-year passports as the older ones expire this year. Of course, the government offices are open only while the kids are at school. I can’t do the running around as the kids have to be present for photos. It’s been a logistical nightmare!
MISSING | Cole and Chloé – though not at the same time. They are both going to the same place: the winter Temagami trip with the school. Cole is a Senior Outdoor Leader and Chloé is one of the poor unfortunate U2’s who get to camp outdoors (yes, we know it’s winter) for a week! Cole is out for two weeks.
FEELING | Content. I can do this. If I relax and pace myself and embrace FLOW, it’ll all get done. Though, I am wishing I could wiggle my nose and have everything put exactly in it’s right place!
LISTENING | Much more than I speak: I listen to music. Commentators. Friends. Teachers. Fellow students. Okay, how about I’m trying to listen much more than I speak. Some days (and topics) are easier than others!
WATCHING | The constant activity in the cemetery. Just on the other side of my back fence is a large cemetery. When I moved in, I thought it would be a nice and quiet spot – maybe a runner or two. WRONG! It is a hub of activity. No dogs. No runners. Few walkers. Many burials. Many visits. It is utterly fascinating to quietly witness the ritual of mourning and loss.
READING | It started with finding this challenge for 2015. I have plenty of books, but decided to wait for the arrival of First Frost which is written by a favourite author. I read it in less than a day – which is saying something since I am a ridiculously s.l.o.w. reader 🙁 Next up? I’m not sure, but I am definitely going to continue this practice. I’d forgotten how much I enjoy fiction.
WEARING | My new Sorel boots – everywhere. Love them!
PLANNING | A trip to Turks & Caicos. Time in Tucson. Summer break. Contiki tours – Thailand? Peru? Blyth trips. Math courses. Cape Cod. Beach Volleyball camps and competitions. Pan Am Games tickets. Blue Jays tickets. Stratford plays. Maybe some quiet time, too!
WANTING | More energy. I’m so tired of being tired at 3PM!
NEEDING | To put a plan together to purge and organize the house, by room. Oh, needing the energy to do it, too!
WISHING | For mild weather. And more sunshine. The gray days are warmer than bright days, but I’d really like more sunshine, and less wind.
WAITING | For a really good story idea. One I cannot ignore!
THINKING | Of how best to execute my creative projects. Now that I’ve culled them to include only the projects that really resonate within me and bring me joy.
ENJOYING | That my One Little Word for 2015 – flow – was the right choice. So, so good.
ENCOURAGING | All of my kids to follow their dreams. There is NO “can’t”. They can do ANYTHING. Release the fear and anxiety – embrace the challenge and opportunity!
CELEBRATING | The simple things found in my every day.
CULTIVATING | A life I’m happy and proud to live. Every day. It’s okay that I’ve got boundaries and limits – honestly, it’s preferable.
MARVELING | The many people who do not walk their talk. How can you do that? Baffling.
ANTICIPATING | Only good things ahead!
